with access to shops and trekking trails.
How to get?
There are three ways to get to El Chaltén.
bus
From the city of El Calafate (215km), with daily services at different times, or from the town of Perito Moreno (625km) located in the north of the province of Santa Cruz. There are numerous companies that provide transportation services between El Chaltén and El Calafate.
car
There are two main roads to access El Chaltén: National Route 3, which borders the Atlantic coast and is the busiest (paved all the way) and National Route 40 parallel to the Andes Mountains.
airplane
The nearest airport is the Comandante Armando Tola International Airport in El Calafate, served by several airlines daily. From there, you must travel to El Chaltén by land, a journey of 215 km (Routes 40 and 23).
